Dabei entwickelt sich zwischen Philip und der Lehrerin eine unwiderstehliche Anziehung. Eine geheime Liebe voller Hindernisse, denn auch Evas Schwester Maja will Philip – auf eine besitzergreifende Art, die sie zu allem fähig macht. During the flight, a serious thunderstorm rages. The storm spares Philip’s life but it takes another victim – his youth love Eva, who was on her way to the hospital by car. Philip has no idea that they have a daughter – ten-year-old Maxi. After Eva broke off contact to him, Philip has spent the last years in Africa. To restore his health, he returns to the Luneburg Heath and lives with his friend Fritz, an attorney. The news of Eva’s death is a serious blow for Philip. Eva’s mother Renate does not want to lose Maxi so she does not tell Philip about his daughter. He starts to guess that Maxi is his daughter, though. Now, that he found her, Philip is determined to stay in touch with Maxi. Maxi’s teacher Alexandra helps him find a way around Renate’s opposition and meet Maxi. Philip and Alexandra feel drawn to each other very strongly. A secret love develops, a relationship full of obstacles because Maja, Eva’s sister, has set her eyes on Philip as well. She is so possessive that nothing can stop her. When Philip refuses Maja’s advances, she uses Maxi to plot a terrible intrigue…
