Hello dear readers! I was contacted by the mayor of Altdorf bei Nürnberg to help find the "Buergermeisterkette"of Altdorf. It was taken by an American military officer to the USA after the war and then sold . They would like to purchase it from the present owner.I would appreciate it very much if anyone who knows anything about it would contact Magdalene at mpmay2@aol.com Thank you !

My wife Helga (Werschun) Nolden left Konigsber in Jan 1945 as a refugee, going on to Oksboel Denmark. Her mother grand mother and her brother also made that trip, staying in Oksboel until 1948. She seeks other refugees from Konigsberg and Oksboel.

Referring to the article, "Im DDR-Museum Radebeul" (page 6), in the July, 2010 issue of Das Fenster, has the DDR-Museum displaced the Karl May Museum, and does the latter still exist?

Meister Karl J. Kaiser

Dear DAS FENSTER, I always enjoy reading your message board as it gives a lot of information, valuable hints and suggestions etc. Unfortunately I could not find any archives, meaning messages that were posted in 2008,2009(earlier/later dates). It would be so helpful and interesting to read what other subscribers/readers wrote. Is there any way you could make copies, and I (or others if interested) gladly pay for this copied _pamphlet_ ?? BTW, it would give "Das Fenster" an additional income. I truly enjoy reading your magazine every month and I herewith would like to take the opportunity to thank all readers to answer my request on how to make _falsches Marzipan_. Still have not heard from anyone who came from Mecklenburg, also regarding Fritz Koch-Gotha and Kaethe Miethe. Thank you again, keep up the good work. Kindest regards, Helena D. Hallo, I am a PhD student at a university in Texas and I am looking for German women who came here to the United States after the war. I would like to interview these women about their experience in the US. These interviews will become part of the German Women Immigrant Project. Women in Texas preferred, but I am willing to travel. If interested, please contact me at: germanwomengwip@hotmail.com
